Our antique shades and globes are ready to use. Most of them were not ready when we found them. Think of a, (now antique), shade that has been hung in a house for 40 to 50 years. The following needs to be cleaned off of many of them: tobacco smoke residue, cooking smoke residue, fireplace smoke reside, paint flecks, price sticker gum, rust, metal marks, marker and grease pencil, and of course fly specks (dead bug residue). We use everything from mild dish soap to muratic acid. Some get ruined in the process and some never come clean.
Reproduction Shades (Some are old reproductions and some are current.)
